|||+1|||Yeah this would be nice. It's really annoying sometimes to click on a wall segment that's behind another object. Rotating the view in the middle of combat is annoying. An auto-repair toggle would fix this.

I rather suggest a solution like its in the game for building and farming already. Means if i select a group of villagers to repair a building, that they automaticly scan for another damaged building nearby to continue repairing.
|||I don't personally support this, just wanted to say i'm quite happy with how the game currently works with regarding to building repairs, and should not be automated, repairs cost resources in this game, i don't want an automated resource eater. If you want to repair multiple things, use Shift click to queue the repairs.|||" i don't want an automated resource eater", please read above post, a feature you can (1)enable or (2) disable on a villager. So that when the enemy is attacking and you’re already doing 21 things it’s one less micromanagement issue to deal with (rotating views so you can repair that wall piece one piece at a time behind buildings and towers etc. All my friends and I would like this option to enable or disable auto-repair.
Oh yea I also don't want to have to resort to shift clicking all over the map changing views (ctrl click) arrow key while holding shift all while being attacked and trying to manage other resources) (I don’t play the piano) etc. it’s pretty rudimentary clear this is an idea that needs to be implemented and already exists in other similar games.

OP did say it would be a toggle, IE optional.
I'd especially love it if any unit set to auto-repair wouldn't be flagged as idle. I sometimes like to camp a villager near my walls and towers and it's annoying to have to constantly click the idle icon over and over to see if a different villager is idle.
please read above post, a feature you can (1)enable or (2) disable on aI do respect your opinion on this, however i still do not support it, this has never been a feature in AoE games, i don't believe it should be, it doesn't work(in my mind) with how this game plays. If you need repairs whilst in the midst of a battle that is micro you need to do, not something that should be automated just because it's inconvenient to have to manage repairs alongside whatever else you're doing.

If you make it optional then players using it have less micro to do, which imho gives a player with that option enabled a *potential* advantage(they have less to manage). Right now, each player has that extra micro to do, so neither player is at a disadvantage as a result.

Ok so it seems to me that you’re talking about PVP here, clearly as the Computer NPC solo game, (which is IMHO all I care about Hate PVP love co-op though), the computer can very intricately do all things all the time concentrating on attacking while also on economy, and while also on repairs etc., so if you speaking of an advantage the PC NPC is on GOD MODE in this respect compared to the player.
Also some people are obviously WAY better, faster and experienced at all this micromanagement so I could see how they could perceive this advantage they have over more clumsy less adapt player as a treat to their strategy. But it would be a huge incentive to those that stink at PVP to actually attempt it.
A compromise then, maybe option available in non PVP only or not available in ranked PVP?
