The List of Doom (Constructive and fair - just the way we like it)

Important: There has been alot of posts in this thread, some who doesn't know how to be constructive, so if you don't - don't bother posting at all. Thanks for keeping the thread healthy and WORTHY of a read for the developers.

  1. Map previews - What's strategy without map previews, really? Bring it to Crete, so I don't have to make this: http://localhostr.com/files/84jWuTl/capture.png (too late..)
  2. Stupid AI - Something is really wrong when I can intercept the computers army with one villager and 8 units chase it for all eternity. Right? http://localhostr.com/files/sEP9C5E/capture.png
  3. Co-op stands for explaining your mission? - Because today my friend and I had to tell eachother what our mission objective was. Party quests is a hard implementation, right?
  4. Crappy LFG tool - Is this poker, or a strategy game? Because when I have no idea what the quest I click on in LFG channel is about, it sure feels like poker.
  5. Item Comparison - While shopping - should I really need to bring a shopping list? Let's say I found a cool spear for my spearmen in a store on Nubia, should I really have to go back to my town and check if I have something better?
  6. World Map - Hotkeys are cool. Right click to "zoom out" of current zone (in other words, right click in a region = worldmap)
  7. Was it really that hard? - Can't even right-click the trade tab.
  8. Stupidity. - Ok, I might go too far now, but what idiot came up with the idea to limit item links to Trade channel only? Say good bye to social gaming, because, like it or not - talking about items is a big part of it.
  9. Hide and Seek - Black fog of war on Crete? No thanks.
  10. Towers, but who needs doors? - Garrison archers, enough said.
  11. Health Bars - Where's the option to always show them? It's either hover or holding alt.. That's not enough I tell you.
  12. What just happened? - After alt-tabbing, and then pressing enter, the game changes some settings and asks if we want to keep them, I say no.
  13. I don't want to hear it - Let me disable the tutorial tips at the beginning, please?

  18. Pathing here and pathing there - You really screwed that up, fix it, right now. Seriously.
  19. Them be hugging priests, mon! - Attack-move with attacking units and priests, and the priests will hug the enemies. Fierceful hugs, but not hurtful in anyway. Can we have our priests be useful? Thanks.
  20. Hotkeys, where are thou? - Going into a game, I'll find hotkey markings for some, but not all options, fix it. Newer people don't use it, but professional players can't live without it.It's pretty amazing that i'll find hotkey markings for Docks (D) but not House, Barracks or Storehouse.
  21. Contentless content: Thanks for Crete Booster Pack, but the contents was lacking - hopefully you're not the soulless jerk who laughs at my regretfully spent money when I say that. What am I talking about precisely? I always get the same item completing 10-20 with 30 waves: Shrine of the Bound Minotaur that requires 300 materials that I have never heard of. What if I don't want the statues? Should I refrain from doing the content I bought, or just toss an epic away?

|||You are about 50 minutes into your quest. Then your internet goes out for just 1 second. Bam, you are back at the login screen and when you log back in your progress is erased. Sure there's no point in playing a game where you can't progress forward.

AI and pathing really need _a lot of_ work. Other relatively small bugs you mentioned will be probably quickly fixed but I really hope that devs realize that people want to play a good _strategy_ AOE game and concentrate their efforts on fixing basic aspects of the gamefirstrather than adding more cosmetic packs.

P.S. Don't insult people, it won't get you anywhere.

Nice list and I'll have you know it pleased me :)

Few things I'd like to add (most are trade related since I think that part really is bad thus far):

22. Keep chatscreens: It is so annoying when you are trading or watching the trade channels and you switch to another city or region, BAM, you chat has been cleared. This just results in more spam on the channels with people asking "who was the guy selling X and Y items again?" (goes along with your number 5).

23: Repeat yourself: The ability to repeat your previous sentence would be nice so I don't have to write the whole trade message again because you can't copy paste linked items.

24. Premium ability: The ability to earn coin when people buy from your shops. What use is this if you can't put dow, say, a marketplace and put items up for sale? The only shops you can put down are accessable by everyone and only cost a few gold... Now that I think about, some kind of auction house would be usefull too since trade is crippled without it :(

25. AUCTION HOUSE: Auction House please to provide better trading. After all, that's what an RPG is about: trading gear and then wearing it.

26. Stacking: Could you make it so that materials stack in bigger numbers? I have about 70 inventory space atm but it's pilling up with uncommon resources even (those that take 30m to make). Make it stack in 500's instead of 100's or something. And let duplicate items stack as well.

27. More shops from Crete Booster Pack: like with number 21, I agree that the content is just not a lot. All we did is PAY for a random defense generator on a set map. It's not even a random map generator where you can 'PvP' against the CPU. Also, some exclusive Crete shops would be nice. I know, there is 1 shop with epics, but there could be some more exclusive Crete items I think.

28. Elite Quest, are you serious? if you do any quest on elite, the CPU will own you because ALL their stats have been multiplied by some big number. If at first I can kill a handful of archers with 6 ballistas and when I play on elite, those 5 archers will each shoot 1 time to kill all my balistas and I didn't even take off 10% of their hp, then something is wrong! Playing on Elite just feels like godmode for the CPU because besides their health, also their damage output has been greatly improved (without it showing in the tooltip however ). I also get the impression that playing on Elite scales with your own level, so at lvl 10 it was very very hard, but now at lvl 28 it's a living hell. 5 basic spearmen should not be able to kill my wall in 2 hits and my towncenter in a 6 hits

29. Advisors: You'd think that when I have an uncommon advisor and the same advisor as epic rarity, that I'd only use the epic advisor right? So could you please remove the uncommon advisor, because my advisor hall is too crowded right now. Just override as soon as you get an upgraded version of an advisor.

It's mostly little things, but they're just as annoying as big bugs. Don't hate your players, make them comfortable so they will stay longer. Then again, we don't pay monthly so why would... eh, nevermind, just don't hate us please

I'm not interested in going into Hotkeys to see each buildings hotkey - the feature of showing it while hovering the button is there already, it's just not finished.

30) ITEMS THAT CANNOT BE USED OR DELETED IN INVENTORY PLUS QUESTS THAT CANNOT BE ABANDONED: They need to get rid of the premium-only blueprints for free accounts which cannot be deleted or discarded (arena, advisor buildings), and they therefore take up precious room. This leaves me disgruntled as though they're forcing me to buy something, and screwing me over.

31) ALLOW CHAT WHILE WAITING FOR CO-OP: As it stands, pressing the co-op button grey's the screen out and you cannot chat while you wait for a group. Annoying.

32) ATTACK MOVE DOESN'T WORK WITH VILLAGERS OR PRIEST IN SELECTION: Military unit selections that include priests act as if they're just normally moving, and not attack-moving. Highly annoying.

33) BARELY ANY UNIT STATS: I can't even tell if my units were upgraded, or how much armor/damage they do, OR what their multipliers are. Extremely Annoying.

34) NO OBJECTIVES WHEN CO-OPING FRIEND'S QUEST: There is no indicators of objectives when co-oping with friends when you don't have their quest. Example would be for all quest where you are helping another civilization. The only indicator is a small silent green exp number that is often missed when you have completed their quest. Extremely annoying.

35) SIEGE ACT FUNNY WHEN ATTACK-MOVING: Whenever I attack-move age 3 siege as egypt, they clump together and move very sporadically as though they were bumping into themselves continuously. I haven't tried other siege to see if it affects them too.

36) CAN'T START CO-OP QUEST UNLESS PARTY LEADER: I usually do my co-op quests with a friend, then when they have no more they co-op with me for my quests...but I can't do this unless I kick them and re-invite them so I'm the party leader. EXCEPTIONALLY ANNOYING.

37) YOU CANNOT TRAVEL BACK TO HOME CITY IF CO-OPING WITH FRIEND ON QUEST: Button is grey when trying to get back to home city after helping with quest, must to go a different city from home city to get back to town after finishing quest. Annoying.

38) CANNOT EQUIP UNLESS IN CAPITAL CITY: Why? This is stupid and annoying after having come back from a quest and unlocking chest. Why can't I equip and/or sell from wherever? I hate having to click map then world map then home city after every goddamn quest. ****ING ANNOYING.

Don't bother continuing the list if you are gonna repeat what has already been said.
Also, keep the whiny 'annoying' out of every list item - it's not necessary.

only a few of these options are actually valid.
like, one person wrote about having to leave a party and inviting them again just so they can start a co-op quest, well you could have just told that person "could you promote me to leader?"

|||There are many valid points listed in this thread, most of it should be seen as bugs too. I hope the staff will take notice and try make this game that little bit better. Don't let these complaints go by please, its giving the impression that the release was hurried up or that there is a lack of support.

I had made a previous post, but I'll just add that here because this seems to have gotten a bit of momentum.

  • Map- First off the map, movie it to a bottom cornerandmake it a square. It's the same formula as many other e-sports participants and leaders and it's also a lot easier for fans(assuming replay, spectator mode, etc gets implemented) to watch the minimap and the action. It's just a whole lot easier.
  • Unit Creation - There really needs to be a build time here. Doing so could be a veryconvenient addition, helps with timings, spectators etc.Give it a bar, a countdown number, anything! To save space on the map, and just have an overall better look with the current way its laid out, training units should really be pressed down into the card for the 1 unit 10 times, as opposed to having 10 different cards on your screen after you click train.
  • User Content -The community thrives on user developed content. No idea where MS stands on this, or if the company has even talked about this, or if they even have the ability to send their stuff to the public. Give people the map editor, let them make their own stuff, let them give us something with a competitive feel! We, as a community, can virtually balance the game(obviously not implement it of course) just by playing the game and present the needed changes.
  • MMO -This is an mmo, where are those functions. I want to create a guild/clan. I want to enter a mission with more than 1 other person. I want to play online in an unranked match and not have lag. I'm always connected, can I do anything other than visit random people's city and do a coop mission to help someone out? If you're going to advertise as aftpMMO, then you can't go halfway. You can't just have the customization of inventories and say, well, we're done.
  • Previews -Obviously, first couple weeks, LOTS of stuff to go over and work on. Give us something to preview, like a patch preview, to test out, something to gossip over, or ultimately criticize you for in chat. There a place where we can go to check out whats in store next patch? Like a test realm?
  • Customize-ableUI -MMOs usually allow forcustomize-ableUIs. Now obviously certain things just can't be moved, but maybe I want my xp bar, quests and resources in a different spot. Unfortunately the "PvP" in this game is actually just a regular RTS 1v1/2v2 atm, so it's actually more of an RTS, so customizing a UI is really dependent on whether or not MS deems it appropriate and balanced to do so.

Oh god the pathing.

The pathing and just the unit controls themselves really make me feel like I'm playing a 14 year old game.
