Pave roads and build walls in your capital city

[:1]It would be cool if you could build walls or pave roads/add trees to your capital city, or even add regualr buildings for decoration. Like the other big cities in the game.|||also remove trees|||I guess teraforming would be the ultimate edittool, where you could have complete control of how all aspects of your city landscape look; but for me the main focus now should be on adding game-play features, focus on the beautification stuff a bit later.|||

Oh gawd yes..give us some tools to bring order to the cities..mine is one big chaos.

|||I agree. It would be easy to implement paving, tree removal and a few extra buildings, and it would make a big different to those who like to customize their cities.
|||This is an absolute must. Compared to the quest cities, mine is an absolute mess, and paving using the "move building" trick is a very tedious task, to say the least. Both paving and tree removal should be easy stuff to add, and I would love to see it added :)
|||Or perhaps make the trees, rather moveable either? Because if they are removed, there wont be a way to get them back. I think they could be used to improve the picture of a city if put into a nice order, like a park or an avenue.

Agreed: Paved roads, tree removal would be nice for the capital cities.

|||Also, maybe a flatten ground function? I'm not talking about getting rid of those large hills and cliffs, but there are a few random bumps here and there on the map that serve no purpose aesthetically, and are just a nuisance for building.

I mean sure the game developers are obviously encouraging us to be a bit more creative with our building placement with the trees and bumps and stuff but that comes off as a bit high-school-project-like : at the end of the day, I have a better idea as to what I want my city to look like than they do.
|||I agree, building roads, walls, and editing the trees would be a great addition. Also choosing the terrain would be great, I know every time you create a city it is randomly generated.|||

It would also be great to be able to move buildings without having to remove them to a totally different area first. When you click to move a building, can't you make the building's "ghost" count as a placeable area?

A toggleable snap-to grid would be fantastic too, for lining up objects easier.

Thanks for setting up a thread for this Colham, this is a must it may be an rts but its also a city build and a city build needs map tools. for those who do not think this matters to game time, thats like me saying pvp does not need to be improved just because i do not use it much. there are alot of us who would spend days improving the way our cities look.

Things i think it should feature would be

Add/Remove doodads: trees, rocks, bushes, cliffs...

Alter terrain: Lower, raise, flatten, add water...

Add/Remove Construction: Roads, Sign's,some basic city feature.

Have each change cost coin if need be as it will give players something else to spend there money on. and if you must make this a buy able addon it should not cost any more then 4.99$ as its really something that should have come with that game. there was a flyer that said customize your own cities.
