Although the free to play portion of the game could be considered a demo of the game, I really enjoyed it and decided to purchase a premium Greek civilization and Crete Booster pack. After playing for a while I really wish I had purchased the $99 Season Pass.
Now I'm in a situation where if I buy the Season Pass I will have essentially purchased some of the same content twice. If I purchase everything seperately, I will not be eligible for the 30% savings.
I really wish that there was an upgrade feature for this. Maybe it's just a limitation of Xbox Live's purchasing system but this should really be considered. Or maybe allow an exception to the 'all sales are final' rule which would allow an exchange to the Season Pass. The purchase could be prorated in this case.
|||This would be great. But this would be more of a Marketplace issue rather than AOEO|||Heck, i would love if they had an upgrade button for any of their deals. Didn't feel like shelling out $99 to see what premium content was like, but now i wish i had gotten the launch special.|||
What do the Season Pass and the Special Launch Offer have that buying both premium civs, the Crete booster pack and the decoration buildings doesn't?
I just spoke with Games for Windows Support (1-877-274-4349). While the representative was nice, she expressed that there is absolutely no way to upgrade to the Season Pass.
Xbox maintains a strict "no refunds" policy. Not even for exchanging to a higher-priced offering. Once you buy it, that's it.
The whole situation is very disappointing. Does anyone know what the repercussions would be for issuing a chargeback through my credit card company? Will Microsoft ban my account?
|||Why should they give you a refund, there was no defect in the product you bought...|||
RoughPine0: I'm not asking for a refund at all. I'm asking for an upgrade (where I pay the difference in price).
If you book a standard hotel room but decide you want a suite instead, should the hotel charge you twice? No, they would charge you onlythe rate of the suite.
|||This is just how DLC works. Very few games allow you to upgrade without having to pay for stuff you already have. Also, the Season Pass and Launch Special give you a better deal for buying in bulk (save ~$30 and ~$10). If you could just upgrade, it would defeat the purpose of the deal. I'm sorry you learned this the hard way, but DLC has been this way for a while.
