F2p players and P2p players

[:1]

Im a LVL 14 and im currently on i need a hero.

Its seems like theres no way to create an army for free plaers because of lack of equipment because 75 percent of what loot i get is either premium or sucky items.

In I need a Hero tthe other team seems to have steel scimitars while i have a bronze but theres no quipment for me to use

this game need to get a lot more balanced for f2p due to equipments.

I think its good that f2p people can do alot less then the p2p. But it sure is annoying that at some point you have to buy the game to get futher. but why don't you just buy it when you like the game? it's not that expensive. Would you prefer to have a "Free 10 day trial" With a limit to get level 20 and must pay to continue?

|||i totally agree but id rather wait for persions though and i got so far in the game that id have to start over to get what items i want

At lvl 14 there is a fair amount of green items you can use. Just find some friends that have different crafting schools and buy things from them if you can't find things from quests. Since you seem to get the blue/purple items you can sell them for money to pay for the green items.

If you're using the top green gear that you can use then you shouldn't have too much trouble.

Yeah, try and sell off your rare/epic stuff for gold and buy the best green items you can find.

And I Need a Hero is not the easiest of quests. Some quests just are hard and require certain skills be tested. You can always go out and do some repeatables to level up first, as I don't think enemy strength scales with your level (and thus better equipment).

|||You cannot buy items from stores as a free player, you can only purchase them from other players, so that limits what gear you have to direct trade or luck in loot that is dropped. It's really not that much of an issue though, i've played(so far) upto level 35 and not yet had any(exception to a few quests) that were undoable. Sandstorm(egypt quest) took me a little while(specced towers and finished it first time after the spec), the only others i've found a little challenging were the Cyprus quests, but those are intended to offer more of a challenge(so to be expected). Personally i think it would be nice if free players could at least use stores for green items, or alternatively have access to white/green advisors, short of playing on a friends premium account i can't see how a free player could possibly determine if buying premium is worth it(if he/she never gets the chance to test the things he or she is missing). At least with games like SC2 and WoW you can play the full game for a limited time(so you can easily determine if it's worth investing money, there's nothing similar with AoEO to allow you to make that determination).|||

Yes, you can buy some items from stores as a free player. Just of the top of my head I know there is a low lvl spear from your own town you can buy, really only useful at the beginning of the game. You can also buy gear from the uncommon item stores, which have lvl 27 gear which can be helpful mid-game. Can't think of others at the moment, but there are probably a few...nubia and mycene might have something that doesn't cost empire/faction points.

I know this was about buying not making, but if you get a crafting school and a few friends so that you can swap recipes then you can make tons of gear. Even prem players can't make all the schools (yet).

If you play the Marathon server I have both uncommon gear stores so feel free to stop by my town and buy some gear!

thanks ill see if i can transfer my empire to marathon i heard you can though

thanks by the way do you have recipies i dont have any good friends also what is a crafting school is it like the crafting hall was it?

|||I Need a Hero does not need gear to do it. To be perfectly honest, just macro better, and use the proper counters. Most people find this mission (and the next one) harder, free or premium alike, since this is the point where the AI actually attacks you with proper numbers now. I help people at these 2 quests at times, and usually, by the 15 minute mark, I have an army twice the size of my partner's, plus siege weapons. Of course they would have trouble with the mission, while I would just roflstomp it.
