I don't think it would balance very well in this game, despite how fun it was in AoE2. If you have problems keeping your archers alive, box them in behind your fort(assuming you're not under siege fire), additionally create a choke points to minimise the damage taken from enemy inf/cav or whatever, ie. use your surroundings, which can and should include your own structures. Archers need to hit and run to be used most effectively, they should never really tackle enemy units in close quarters, when possible, hit -> run, hit -> run....
|||I liked this feature mainly when you had to recall villagers to your Town center it became more potent at the right time.|||I agree no reason why they shouldn't be able to garrison in town centers and archer towers >.> i don't see how it would be unbalanced in pvp your opponent could do it too. In the campaign they do bring siege equipment.
